Ben's Most Pivotal Week

Keeping her title...

The dates were in Puerto Rico this week. Everyone got a date with Ben, no girl left behind!

Date #1 (One on One) Nicki - Something in Spanish.... Thanks for the translation Emily! "Let's find a new love in Old San Juan"
Ben is excited for his date with Nicki because she brings out the playful side of him, and she is always smiling and positive. Maybe Emily should take lessons from her. Ben picks Nicki up and they take a helicopter ride to Old San Juan. They start off the date with a little stroll in the town. Ben speaks Spanish to a street vendor to purchase a little treat. Just as the date is getting started a torrential downpour hits as they are walking down the street. After they got totally soaked they found cover in an ally. They pulled a Britney Spears - walking the streets in their bare feet. Since Plan A didn't work out they came up with Plan B, purchasing dry authentic clothes. They were taking a rest on a park bench and happened to spot a formal wedding taking place at a church. Ben tells the camera as he was watching the wedding he looked over at Nicki and "thought I'm not sure if I'm ready to get engaged." Wow! I hope he meant he is not sure if he wants to get engaged to her...otherwise we have a big problem! During dinner he grilled her on her previous marriage. Ben validated her divorce and gave her Rose #1. They sealed the deal with a few kisses.

Flash to the girls - Elyse and Blakeley fighting over who deserves a one on one date. Perfectly timed...there is a knock on the door - the date card arrived!

Date #2 (9 Girl Date) - Courtney, Kacie B., Emily, Rachel, Jamie, Casey S., Jennifer, Blakeley, Lindzi "Diamonds are a girls best friend"
Not the kind of diamonds you are thinking....baseball diamonds! After finding out what the date is, Blakeley thinks she has the perfect date. Chris Harrison meets them on the diamond to prepare the ladies for a romantic beach party that not everyone will be invited to. He provided direction to split the girls into two teams, the winning team gets the romantic beach party invite. Ben felt bad, but not too bad. Ben got to choose one girl to play both teams who would get to go to the beach party no matter what - Lindzi got the MVP. Ben was assigned as the designated pitcher.

Team Red - Courtney, Kacie B., Casey S. Jamie vs. Team Blue - Blakeley, Emily, Jennifer, Rachel.

5 runs in the first inning for Team Red. Blue team made a come back when Ben made an error. Courtney tells the camera "Blakeley is a champion. Who knew that strippers could play baseball" (Best comment of the night!) The game was only planned to go for 2 innings, but turned into a 5 inning game. Jennifer struck out to lose the game.

The winning team had a champagne celebration on the field in front of the losers. A helicopter picked up the winning team to take them to the beach party. Blakeley and Jennifer were crying for their loss. Courtney tells the camera the girls better not be crying, "there are no tears in baseball." - with the exception of Joey Cora. The beach party started off with a bonfire cocktail hour. Ben asked to go for a walk with Kacie B. (KB) and gave her Rose #2. Courtney stole Ben as soon as KB got back. She brought up an idea that she has had in mind. She gives him something to think about by mentioning skinny dipping.

Date #3 (One on One): Elyse "Let's find love somewhere private..."
Elyse started crying just thinking about going home. Really? The date began on a yacht. Another good comment from Courtney "I might not be seeing her later, I hope I got her number, I could use a personal trainer" Ben was excited to have a date with Elyse on the water because being on the water can change feelings. Elyse tells Ben she gave up her job (as a personal trainer), and missed being in her best friends wedding for Ben. - Is he supposed to feel guilty? She also tells him that she is ready for marriage as she has already accomplished everything she wants to accomplish in life. Ben was shocked by this statement. They spent the afternoon jumping off the yacht and swimming. After swimming they moved to dinner on the beach. Ben follows up on the comment "You have accomplished everything that you already want to accomplish?" She clarifies and says she is sick of being single. At that point you could see that he was just waiting for her to stop talking so he could tell her that he is done. He so kindly picks up the rose to tell her it's not hers. I'm not sure if she even got dinner! I think it was just a champagne toast to her departure. They showed Elyse crying for so long! I think it was because the date was so short they had to fill the time. The ocean got the rose.

Flash to the girls in the hotel sitting around talking about the full moon. In walks in some random guy to pick up Elyse's luggage. Even the girls called out that it was early in the night.

Courtney decides to find Ben goes to rejuvenate him. He invites her into his hotel room. He tells the camera that he didn't know she would take initiative and break the rules. Really? He said "I don't know how I feel about that." He must not have minded too much. They had a toast, and she showed him what was under her robe. They head out to the beach to cash in on Courtney's offer. He tells the camera that he thinks that it isn't a good idea. For a moment he uses his brain and then decides to listen to his penis.

Cocktail Party -
Just before the cocktail party started, Ben tells the camera that he shared a very intimate moment with Courtney and he feels crappy.

Blakeley pulls Ben aside to tell him all of the things she likes about him. Courtney starts to lure the girls into the fact that she has gone skinny dipping. Emily tells Ben she stopped thinking of Courtney and has been focusing on Ben. Then she takes it too far and starts talking about Courtney again! Really? Courtney wishes on her magic candle and declares Emily is gone!

Rose Ceremony -

And the shocker!!! Jennifer (aka best kisser) got sent home crying!!!

This week wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, but next week looks promising. They are going to Panama City, Panama and it looks like it comes out that Casey S. has a boyfriend.

The board took a slight hit. Nick is no longer in the running for the prize!

Need I say more?

13 would-be soul mates visit Park City, Utah to experience the outdoors. Ben states that his main goal is to remain open and to be honest this week. Mission Accomplished!

As Chris Harrison is explaining the week to the girls he gives them a bit of advise. "If and when you get time with Ben, use it wisely! Don't talk about the weather...or other girls!" If only the girls listened to his advise, this is his area of expertise!

Date #1 (One on One): Rachel - "Let's let nature take it's course"
The date card makes Kacie B jealous because the thought of him spending the full day with someone else is too much to handle. So much that it brought her to tears. Does she not realize that she is on the Bachelor? Kacie then feels comfort when Ben picks Rachel up for her date. "He see's me and he knows I'm still here." Like she would leave?
The date begins with a helicopter ride to a lake with a canoe waiting for them. Ben takes Rachel out to the middle of the lake for a make-out session.

The camera flashes to Kacie B. & Monica sharing a blanket talking about how hard it is to watch other girls go on dates with Ben. - Kacie...this is getting old! You do know you signed up for the Bachelor, right? The whole time I'm wondering what Monica is thinking. She is probably happy to be sharing a blanket with Kacie B! :)

Back to Ben and Rachel's date where they share a champagne picnic by the lake. The conversation was odd as they talked about winking, crows feet (as in wrinkles), and a beaver dam. - Just the kind of thing you should be talking about on a first date! They then had a romantic dinner in an animal skin hut. Rachel talked about not being able to open up when dating. Somehow the conversation about not being able to open up caused her to finally open up. Ben started to seem into her, and said to the camera that he is treating her the same way he treated his relationship with Ashley. Taking things slow. Rose #1 handed out. They end the date by making smores over a fire pit.

Date #2 (8 Girl Date): Jamie, Casey S., Blakeley, Lindzi, Kacie B. Samantha, Nicki, Courtney - "Let's see if you're a great catch"

Courtney immediately begins to terrorize the girls by saying she is not nervous at all for the date!
The date begins with Ben almost falling off a horse into a creek. Somehow he caught his balance and made it across the creek. Lindzi was so excited to see Ben on a horse! All of the girls saddled up and went horseback riding. Ben lead the girls to a perfect spot on the creek to fly fish. Courtney was thrilled (sarcasm)! Ben tells the girls they have to catch their lunch. Courtney tells the camera - catching a fish is not that much harder than catching a man. These girls need to step up their game.

Ben was a little too serious about teaching fly fishing. Courtney decided to steal him away to turn the group date into a one on one date. She moves him away from the other girls. Ben tells the camera "I love spending time with Courtney, I don't know what it is...I think she just kinda gets it." Ben is clueless!

Ben is impressed with Courtney's fly fishing techniques. The other girls gave up the fly fishing and started drinking. Lindzi decides to go in for the kill and turn the one on one date back into a group date. Go Lindzi!!! Courtney caught a fish! - Seriously!!! Of all of the girls to catch a fish it ended up being her!

The date moves from fly fishing to the Waldorf Astoria.

Ben spends one on one time with Nicki and tells her he has been in love 4 times. Nicki thinks that is a lot for his long life of 29 years. Nicki pulls out a sob story with her boss passing prior to the Bachelor. Ben tells her he lost a friend 2 days prior to the show. They decided to make sure the moment is a lasting moment by sealing the moment with a kiss.

Samantha and Ben get some one on one time. Ben asks her if she feels like there is something between them (that is a bad sign). He then tells her she is highly emotional on group dates. He asks her "are you here for me or to take this seriously?" He tells her it is hard to justify giving her a one on one date based off of what he has seen. He then decides that he doesn't see it going very much further, because he wonders if she is taking things seriously enough. He sends her home by saying "I'm thinking we should end this right now."

Of course Courtney is caught saying "it is so great to see Ben sending girls home. Another one bites the dust. That will straighten out the other girls."

After walking Samantha out, Ben takes Kacie B. to his room. He tells her he wanted to kiss her so bad in the creek. They make up for the missed moment in the creek. Ben tells the camera "I'm in trouble with Kacie B. because it is growing faster than most"
The date ends in a hot tub. - A proper way to end a group date. Ben steals Courtney away to the upstairs fireplace. Courtney plays the game telling Ben she has lost sight of everything. Rose #2 given to Courtney - Winning! Ben tells the camera that he hadn't planned to give her the rose, but she needed the reassurance. - If he only knew!

Date #3 (One on One): Jennifer - "Let's pick our love song..."
Ben and Jennifer hike up to the top of a hill where there is a large fence with a 'No Trespassing' sign. They decide to jump the fence. Apparently the fence is there to keep people away from a crater. Ben tells Jennifer they will be climbing down the crater to then hang and drop 300ft into the water at the bottom of the crater. Jennifer says "I don't do this in Oklahoma." Ben informs her that he doesn't jump into craters in California. After a successful jump into a crater they take a ski lift up a mountain for dinner outside by fire pit. Jennifer shares with Ben that she walked away from a relationship of 4.5 yrs because the guy was not going to marry her. It starts to pour down rain and they race for cover in the hotel.

The camera flashes to the girls in the hotel room. What were they doing? Dying roots and talking shit about Courtney. I just thought it was funny that they were dying each other's hair!

Back to Ben & Jennifer. They continue their date in the hotel. Ben has to go back out into the rain to get Rose #3 to then give it to Jennifer. The date ends with a ride back down the mountain to a Clay Walker concert.

Cocktail Party:
Jennifer and Courtney bonded over their roses. Emily didn't follow Chris Harrison's advice and brought up Courtney during her time with Ben. Ben tells her she will go crazy if she tries to read into stuff, and that it will end up in her own demise. We found out that Casey S. is a fan of Courtney. Casey goes straight to Courtney to tattle tell that she heard Emily talked to Ben about Courtney. Courtney calls out Emily in front of all of the girls. Emily denies the accusations. Kacie B. tries to smooth things over by saying "there are roses here tonight, how do we feel about that." Courtney says "I feel awesome about it because I've got one." Chris walks in to end the party...

Monica was sent home without a girl, I mean...without Ben.

Ben announces that the girls will be heading to Puerto Rico next week. Courtney just had to get the last word in by saying - "I was just there 2 months ago."
