Drama Queen Award goes to ShawntelThe show did not disappoint this week, there was plenty of drama!!! Also, we are starting to see theme's with Ben's dates - City Hall & Piano's. Kind of strange!
The show started off with the girls heading to San Francisco. Ben wants the women to see San Francisco because potentially one of them may end up living there.
Before getting started with the dates, Ben met up with his sister, Julia. He mentioned some of his favorite girls - Emily, Lindzi, Kacie B, and Courtney. He called Courtney drama free (if he only knew). He said his mom (a.k.a. Barbara) would like Emily and Kacie B. Apparently Barbara was a majorette as well.
Date #1 (One on One) Emily: "Love lifts us up"
Just based on the title of the date card, Emily was nervous that the date would involve heights. The date begins with a shot of the two of them running down a pier to embrace each other with a hug. Ben fills Emily in on their date - to climb to the top of the Bay Bridge. Both of them hate heights! Ben wants to do this because, "relationships are all about trust, overcoming fears make relationship stronger." They begin the climb and seem to be doing well. Halfway up the bridge, Emily panics.
They flash to the hotel room and Jennifer just happens to be looking through the telescope and spots them on the bridge.
Back to the Bridge - To encourage Emily to make it to the top of the bridge Ben did the only thing he could think of...gave her a kiss. After the kiss and a quick scream her fears subsided. They made it to the top! Ben says "If we can accomplish this, there is nothing we can't do together." They ended the date with a romantic dinner on the pier with a view of the Bay Bridge. They discuss their dating history and Emily shares her online dating experience of getting connected with her older brother. Rose #1 handed out - sealed with a kiss and a private fireworks show.
Back to the Hotel room - The girls in the room saw the fireworks show and comment "she defiantly got a rose".
After the date, Ben commented to the camera "The bar is set high...I very well might be able to spend the rest of my life with her." That is a bold statement to make so early on!
Date #2 (11 Girl Date): Jaclyn, Erika, Samantha, Kacie B., Monica, Rachel, Nicki, Casey S., Elyse, Blakeley. "Let's cross something off our leap list."
Ben took the girls snow skiing in San Fransisco. Yes, they actually closed down a street in SF, made snow and the girls skied down the slope in their bikini's. There were a lot of falls! Kacie B. had never skied before. She mastered skiing backwards with her butt up in the air. The date concluded with dinner at a famous SF restaurant.
Cut to the girls in the room - Date Card #3 (Alone Date) is given to Brittney - "Let's unlock our love with the key to the city." The date card came with a box that contained a diamond key necklace. Brittney was surprised to see her name on the date card and appeared disappointed. Brittney said she was "in absolute shock and something doesn't feel right." Brittney realized he gave her the last one on one date in his hometown, and her heart was not in it. She decided to go home. It was the hardest decision of her life.:)
Back to the group date - Kacie B. took Ben outside for a walk to tell him that she is having a hard time. Ben tells the camera "Kacie B. sparkles. That one's going to be trouble for me, good trouble, I like her." Blakeley gets some one on one time with Ben and tells him that all of the girls hate her. Brittney walks in just as Ben is talking about girls leaving. She tells Ben that her heart isn't in it. Ben walks her to the getaway car and says "say hi to your grandma." At this moment, Ben realizes any of the women can leave whenever they want. He returns to the dinner party to hand out Rose #2 to "someone who opened up to me, someone who was unexpected - Rachel."
Date #3 (One on One) aka sloppy seconds went to Lindzi - "Your first impression was a lasting one, let me show you SF at night."
The date began with a trolley car ride, a stop for ice cream, a ride through China town, and a final stop at the SF City Hall. Ben pulls out a key and unlocks the door to City Hall. They walk-in to Matt Nathanson playing just for them in the middle of City Hall, and of course take in the romantic setting with a dance and some kissing. From City Hall he takes her to a Speakeasy. He tells her she is making a lasting impression and hands out Rose #3. They finish the night off by breaking into a piano store so Ben can play a little tune for Lindzi. It is very clear that Ben got a key to the city, but did Lindzi get the diamond key necklace that was originally intended for Brittney?
Before the commercial break they flashed to a girl driving to SF. She was talking to Chris on the phone telling him she was on her way.
Cocktail Party
The girls start off the cocktail party with a toast to a drama free night...again, if they only knew!
Ben tells Jennifer she is hands down the best kisser in the house. He tested it out one more time and declared "yep you still got it."
Flash back to the girl in the car. She tells Chris that Ben is everything she wants in a guy. She doesn't want to live out her life thinking, what if. They then reveal the girl - Shawntel (the funeral director from Brad's season)!
Back to the cocktail party. Courtney keeps up the smack talking by calling Blakeley the kind of girl your boyfriend cheats on you with. Ben and Courtney go up to the roof top for some alone time. Ben aapologizes to Courtney for not having time with her that week. They both declare their like for each other. Courtney then states "we would make cute babies." Awkward!
Shawntel walks into the cocktail party looking for Ben. A group of girls barely notice her. She finds Ben talking to Elyse outside. Ben's reaction to Shawntel - "Holy shit" Shawntel asks to borrow him for a second. Elyse didn't take it very well as she had NO idea who Shawntel was. Clearly they don't watch the Bachelor! Finally someone clued them in. Ben pulls himself together enough to ask what she is doing there. She tells him that when she found out he was the Bachelor she wasn't happy because she wanted to get to know him better. She asked for him to let her go through the Rose Ceremony. She finishes by telling him "I think you have similar feelings."

#4 - Courtney (After accepting the rose she states "I will, but tonight was a lot, and I just wanted you to know that")

It was down to Jaclyn, Erika, and Shawntel.
Erika started to pass out. After a check from the medic, she was cleared to make it through the rose ceremony.
#14 - No one got the final rose!
Jaclyn runs off to the bathroom crying, Erika continues to try not to pass out, and Ben walks Shawntel out.
Phew! What a night! Rumor has it next week Park City, UT will be eventful as well!
As for the board, both Jonna & Carol lost a pick when Brittney bailed.
