Rumor Mill

The show started off with Emily telling the camera she has decided that the next time she sends someone home she needs to be confident!  She is looking forward to hometown dates next week so she is ready to get serious this week.

Chris is back to his day job and greets the boys to explain the week.  3 romantic One on One dates with no roses and 1 Group date with a rose.

Date #1 (Alone Date) Arie – Let’s Czech out Prague together
The date began without a plan.  Emily decided to pretend like she was out with her husband on vacation.  They did some sight seeing, and kissing.  Emily told the camera that she knows that Arie was hiding a secret from her.

The camera broke away from the date for Chris Harrison to explain the relationship that has been all over the tabloids.  Arie had a relationship with Cassie (the producer) a few years ago.

They taped a sequence with Cassie asking Emily questions regarding Arie and her dating.  Emily thinks that Arie is hiding things from her.  Cassie doesn’t think that it’s that big of a deal.  Apparently Cassie is engaged now…  Emily feels like an idiot because Arie didn’t tell her.

Back to the date - Emily asked Arie if he thinks that he is trustworthy.  He thinks that he is and Emily sits and listens…. just waiting for the perfect moment to drop the bomb.  She kept fishing and Arie told her that he had a tattoo with a girls name but he got it removed.  Not what she was looking for…

Back to Chris Harrison.  He told us that there was an off camera conversation with Arie, Cassie and Emily.  Arie told Emily that he didn’t think that it was a big deal and that it didn’t even cross his mind.  – Why was it an off camera conversation???  Ratings people, ratings!

Emily quickly forgave Arie and resumed kissing him at their romantic dinner.  Emily is clearly giving Arie a rose at the ceremony because she told him she couldn’t wait to meet his family.  Arie told Emily that he loves her, and Emily looked like she was going to melt!  Emily told him “he just made her the happiest girl.”  She told him she has a little surprise for him – fireworks went off!  Arie told the camera that he completely see’s himself marrying her.

Date #2 (Alone Date) John – In Prague, all you need is love
Emily admitted to the camera that John showing his sensitive side at the cocktail party last week was what kept him around for one more week.
The date started with them on a boat ride for a little sight seeing.  John and Emily talked about how he isn’t very open and he told her that he is going to change it.  After the boat ride they went for a walk to the John Lennon wall.  They decided to paint a boat on the wall because that is where their date started.
The next stop was the lock fence.  A place where lovers write a message on a lock and lock it on the fence.  John had a hard time closing the lock.  Emily didn't think that was a good sign.

Flash to the boys in the hotel.  Chris is breaking down, and Emily has driven him to drink!

Back to Emily’s date with the Wolf.  Emily surprised him with a romantic dinner in a dungeon.  They started the night off by talking about John’s old relationship.  He successfully made Emily feel sorry for him.  John told Emily he wants to take her home to meet his family.  Emily didn't seem excited to meet his family.  The Wolf made it home and surprised the boys.

After Emily dropped the Wolf off, Sean went crazy running through the streets shouting Emily’s name.  He found her!  Emily was very happily surprised to see Sean.  Sean took Emily out for a surprise date.  Emily apologized to Sean for not giving him a group date.  They had some beers and a few sloppy second kisses.

Date #3 (Group Date) Sean, Doug, Chris – Let’s find our happily ever after…
The date began with a horse drawn carriage ride to a castle from the 13th Century.  Doug got some alone time with Emily in the castle.  Doug sat next to her while they were talking with his arms crossed and apologized for touching her.  Emily was not impressed!  She decided to send him home to be with his kid.  She tried to explain to him that she wasn’t feeling a connection with him because he didn’t seem like he wanted to be with her.  He went in for a kiss and Emily sent him home.  Doug was embarrassed and went home crying.

Emily went back to the two remaining boys to finish off the now two on one date.  Emily handed them both a key.  One key would open a door where the first alone time would occur.  Sean won the first alone time with Emily.  Chris continued to go crazy in the other room waiting for his alone time with Emily.  Chris finally got his alone time and whined to Emily about not getting a one on one date.  Emily handed Rose #1 to Sean.  Emily told Chris not to take it personally because there was only one rose.

Date #4 (Alone Date) Jef – This is your chance to pull at my heartstrings
The date began with a stroll.  As they were out a shop owner invited them into his puppet shop.  They walked out of the puppet shop and Jef ran back into the shop and bought Ricki a puppet.  The second stop of their date was at a library.  They played with their puppets and told each other how they feel about each other through the puppets.  Jef told Emily's puppet that he is in love with her and wants to get a dog together.  Somehow they ended up on a blanket in the library holding hands.  - Is this Clue?  They talked about what Emily should expect when Jef takes her home to his family.  He warned her that his parents have a few year commitment and will not be able to meet her.  Phase 2 of the date, they laid down on the blanket to view the artwork on the ceiling and talk about moving in together, kids, and marriage.

Conversation with Chris Harrison
Emily told Chris she doesn't need a cocktail party because she knows how she feels about each of the guys.

Chris panicked because there wasn't going to be a cocktail party and he wouldn't get a chance to talk to Emily before she handed out the roses.  Chris was the second guy of the night to cry!

Rose Ceremony
Rose #1 - Jef
Rose #2 - Arie

Before Emily could hand out the final rose Chris told Emily that he needed to talk to her.  He explained to Emily why he acted like he did on the group date.  He told her that he is falling in love with her and doesn't want it to end between them.

Rose #3 - Chris

The board took a big hit when Doug went home, but he is close to home for you single girls (Melissa)! :)

Trophy Wife

Ricky went home and Emily is left on her own to find her husband.

Emily greeted the guys in their hotel room, which was a nice surprise for the guys as the first person they usually see every week is Chris Harrison.

Date #1 (Alone Date) Travis – Let’s look for love beyond the walls
Travis and Emily headed to an old city to explore.  They did a little shopping, bought some ice cream, and tried standing on some awkward stone face against a wall.  The stone face was meant to find out if you are lucky in love – stand on the face and remove your jacket or shirt and you will be lucky in love.  Apparently Travis isn’t going to have any luck with his love for Emily.  He didn’t even try to remove his shirt when he finally was able to stand on the face rock.  He did not score points with Emily for that one! They continued on their adventure, dancing in the alley and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Back at the hotel the guys started evaluating if Travis would make it through the date or go home.  They don’t have a lot of faith in him.

Back to Emily and Travis for an evening stroll in the rain.  In true Bachelorette fashion they ended the night with a romantic dinner.  They talked about Travis and his former fiancĂ©’s relationship.  He finally admits that he has been scared to open up in relationships.  Emily picked up the rose and actually surprised me by handing out…nope, she told him that she doesn’t feel a connection and sent him home!  Not surprising at all!  We begin the count - Travis is the first guy to cry for the night!

Date #2 (Group Date) Sean, The Wolf, Jef, Doug, Chris, Arie Lasting love requires bravery…
Ryan got a little cocky because he is going to get the second one on one date.

The group date began with a movie date.  What a great way to get to know 6 guys!  Even better…it is a kid movie – Brave!  Of course Doug found similarities in the movie with the Bachelorette!  Emily decided that she wants to be fearless like the main character in the movie.

The second phase of the date was a highland game competition, like the movie.  The best part is that all of the boys had to put on kilts for the competition.  Once the skirts were on, the boys rode donkeys into the battle – maybe that was the best part! J  As cute as Chris is he made a bigger ass out of himself by standing strangely while shooting the arrow and missing the target.

After target practice they decided to throw some logs.  Poor Chris was disqualified with his first log throw.  Sean broke the log!

The third competition was tug-o-war with a stick.  Chris got to pick his competitor and lost.  Poor guy!  He lost all three rounds. L  Never fear there was an award at the end of the competitions – The Bravery Award!  Guess who got it???  For his reward, Chris got alone time with Emily and the first couple kisses with Emily.

The date ended with a cocktail hour.  Emily pulled Sean aside and told him to be confident in where he stands with her.  Arie went for a walk with Emily and she told him that she held him to a different standard with the Kalon episode.  Jef scored points by giving Emily his jacket to shelter her from the cold.  Emily asked him if he was playing a game by taking so long to kiss her for the first time.  He told her a secret “I’m freaking crazy about you!”  During Chris’ alone time he tried to get the rose by telling Emily that he is looking forward to falling in love with her.  Rose #1 went to Chris!  Out of pity or…for being one of the kindest, sweetest, most handsome men Emily has ever met?

Date #3 (Alone Date) Ryan – The world is our oyster…
As Ryan was taking 3 hours to get ready for his date all of the guys were talking about how it is his second one on one date and they think he needs to go home.

Emily met Ryan at the hotel to pick him up…or did he pick her up with his cheesy lines?

After the two of them left the boys in the hood (three of them wearing their hoods) continued to talk trash about Ryan.

The date began with Ryan driving Miss. Daisy to their date location.  Emily told him she thinks he is rotten (i.e. trouble).  The date location was out at an oyster farm for a little afternoon snack.  After oysters they went for a walk, ran into a crazy man and finally settled down for a picnic lunch.  Ryan continued to impress Emily with his term of endearment – Trophy Wife.

The date ended in a castle for a romantic dinner.  Ryan was dressed up in his turquoise shoes.  He continued to impress by telling Emily that she is dressed like a trophy.  Ryan pulled out a paper with 12 qualities that he would like to find in a wife.  1.  Loyal 2.  Logical 3. ?  4.  Encourager 5.  Faithful 6.  Nurturer 7.  Confident 8.   Servant 9.  Sexy personality 10. Beautiful - someone who catches his eye.
Emily picked up the rose and fave Ryan a few compliments, tells him that what he is looking for in a wife doesn’t match what she is looking for in a husband and told him she couldn’t give him the rose.  He looked at her with a creepy pissed off look.  He gave her a speech and told her how surprising it is that she doesn’t think they would be a good fit.  She tried to defend her choice and he continued to manipulate her.

Flash to the boys at the hotel.  They were debating if he would come home or not.  Chris called it by saying that he will come home because he is a great salesman.  Arie has faith in Emily and her judgment.

Back to the manipulator…Emily told him that she doesn’t know if she can make him happy and doesn’t give him the rose!  Go EMILY!!!!  He doesn’t give it up!  He continues with the manipulation.  As Emily walked him out she told him that she wasn’t 100% confident in her decision.  Of course he told her that she is making the wrong choice.

As Ryan was going home a “loser” (his words), the boys in the hotel celebrated his departure.

Sneak Attack
Arie went to Emily’s hotel to talk to her.  She was surprised and happy!  Arie told Emily that she is a good judge of character.  Emily gave Rose #2 (Ryan’s rose) to Arie!  He seemed to like getting sloppy seconds from the trophy wife even if they don’t officially count.

Cocktail Party
Emily pulled The Wolf aside.  He told her that he has been playing it too cool.  He pulled out his grandparent’s funeral cards to show her that he is emotional and has depth.  Emily pulled Doug aside for a little one on one time.  Emily puts his arm around her and Doug got shy.  Emily tried giving him a pep talk!  #2 – Doug cried to the camera because he misses his kid.  He better buck up because that didn’t work out for Tony!

Chris Harrison finally appears (must have been on vacation) to take Emily away to prepare for the Rose Ceremony.  Emily told the camera she is having a hard time deciding based off of some advise that Ryan gave her. J

Rose Ceremony
Rose #2 – Sean
Rose #3 – Jef
Rose #4 – Arie

Emily walked out before handing out the last rose.  She found Chris and asked him what to do.  He told her there are no rules.

Rose #5 - John
Rose #6 – Doug

2 guys cried but only 1 guy went home this week.

The board took a big hit with Ryan’s departure.  I’m not confident in Doug and obviously not Arie so the winner might not be based off of Bachelor #1 this season! J
