Joy Ride

The final three

As expected Sean still doesn’t know who he’s going to send home at the end of the week.  He has such strong feelings and is crazy about all three of them.

He gave his thoughts about the final three:

Catherine – The spark is undeniable!  She is so sweet, funny, and intelligent. They have something he doesn’t share with the other girls:  she is weird, silly and goofy.  The romantic element is off the charts.

Ashlee – They have the strongest relationship.  She has amazing qualities that any man would want in a wife:  the biggest heart, giving, caring, open, honest and communicates.  She is in love with him, and they want the same types of things out of life.  He can picture his future with Ashlee, the American dream.

Lindsay – A spark that has grown into a massive fling.  Initially he was worried that she was just crazy and didn’t have depth and maturity.  He found out she is loving, caring, generous, supportive, and hilarious. Everything they are looking for matches up – emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

He told the camera “the next time I say I love you to a girl, it means I’m spending forever with her.”

Date #1 – Lindsay

He picked Lindsay up in a Thai sidecar and took her to the local market.  She wanted to do normal things like go to the grocery store so he figured he would take her to the market.  On the ride over they were talking about food and she said she would try anything but bugs.  While at the market, Sean got her to eat a bug!  Not just one, but two bugs!  As if that wasn’t enough, they ate chicken feet!

After eating everything but the kitchen sink.  Sean took her to a secluded beach.  They talked about her hometown date.  Sean told her “you’re the best friend that I’ve been looking for.”  They decided to walk down the monkey beach to feed monkeys. After feeding the monkeys they took a dip in the ocean. 

The evening ended with a Thai dinner in front of traditional Thai floats.  Sean told the camera that all day he asking himself could he marry her, and all day long the answer was ‘yes’.  Sean confirmed that she would move to Dallas. She tried to tell him that she loves him but was interrupted by live dancers.  After the dancers, Sean handed her the overnight date card.  She said yes!  She tried all day to spit it out and finally got the words out, ‘I love you!’  He said, he loves hearing her say that.  He told the camera that he knows he is falling in love with her.

Date with Ashlee

He met up with Ashlee for a boat ride.  The boat took them to the middle of the ocean to ‘Emerald Cave’.  He told her they could go to their own private beach, but needed to swim through the cave.  As usual she gave her sob story to the camera and explained why she doesn’t like to give up control.  She actually said, “Now I’m more vulnerable than I’ve ever been in my life.”  On the way through the cave, Sean got freaked out in the pitch dark but finally found his way to the beach.  He told the camera “I love feeling like I’m Ashlee’s protector.”  Ashlee told the camera “this is life changing”.  – Who knew swimming through a cave was so meaningful?

After the cave adventure they had a romantic dinner on the beach.  Sean started off the conversation asking Ashlee if she gets asked all of the time why she is single.  As the conversation progressed, she told him I don’t take getting engaged lightly, “I love you enough that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” - Last time I checked that was the definition of getting engaged.  He handed her the overnight date card.  Sean told the camera that he could see the rest of his life with her.  Sean said “before you tell me what you think (about the fantasy suite), it is important for me to tell you what I think”.  He asked her to just use the time to spend alone with him.  She accepted.  In the fantasy suite he told her that he felt really confident that things were going to work out with her.  She decided that was the perfect time to fill him in on the style of engagement ring that she wants and topped it off with her ring size!

Catherine’s Date

They met on the beach and took a ride in a Thai dingy to a Thai sailboat.  Sean told the camera that of the three remaining girls, their lives are the most different.  He asked Catherine if she could move to Dallas with him.  She didn’t exactly say ‘yes’.  She then moved onto how irritated she has been with her sisters telling Sean that she isn’t ready to commit to someone.  After serious conversations, they moved onto back flips off  the boat and snorkeling…and then the thunder moved in. 

After playing in the rain they ended with a romantic dinner.  Sean told the camera that Catherine gets him better than anyone else.  Sean asked her where she sees herself in 5 years.  He told her that he could see himself marrying her.  Before Sean could give her the overnight date card, she went into a long explanation of how she has been thinking about the fantasy suite and that she wouldn’t do that.  Meanwhile the guy hadn’t even given her the date card!  Then he decided to give her the card – so presumptuous!  Of course she accepted the offer!

Chat with Chris

Sean told the camera that he woke up knowing who he was going to send home.  Chris mentioned that this was the same week that Sean went home on Emily’s season.  Sean told Chris that he knows whom he is going to send home and that it trumps the nerves that he felt with sending Desiree home. Chris informed Sean that the girls had made private videos for him.  As he was waiting for the videos to start he told the camera he thinks he knows who he is sending home and hopes that the videos don’t confuse him.  – Two minutes earlier he was telling the camera he was confident that he knows who he was sending home.  Seriously, get it together Sean!

After watching the video’s he didn’t look very confident, but he shared with the camera that he had decided who was going to go home. - Let’s hope so!

Rose Ceremony

Rose #1 – Lindsay

Rose #2 – Catherine

A pissed off Ashlee walked out without saying anything to the girls.  Sean asked her to stop so he could explain to her why he made his decision.  She just stood looking at him with crazy eyes while he tried to explain.  She had enough and gently moved him out of the way and got in the car without saying a single word!  She then proceeded to tell the camera that it wasn’t a joy ride for her; it wasn’t about laughing and having fun.  Moral of the story – when you tell the guy your ring size, you have gone too far!

It will be fun to see Ashlee on ‘The Women Tell All!!!!  Maybe she will talk to him next week?

The final battle is Kerri against Jamie, Kim, and Amy!  This will be a good one!

Hometown Dates!!!!

Hometown Date #1 – Ashlee:  Houston, Texas

Ashlee greeted Sean with her dog Bailey.  Sean told the camera that he wants Ashlee’s parents to know that he is serious about her.  After the doggie introduction they had a glass of wine in a prairie.  She told Sean how similar he is to her father.  Like Sean’s father, Ashlee’s father is a Reverend.   Ashlee told the camera that she is “madly, and deeply in love with Sean.”  - Let’s hope things go well when he meets the Fam! 

Ashlee’s parents meet Sean outside the house with a very warm welcome!  They sat outside and chatted over a country lunch.  Ashlee described the Polar Bear plunge to her folks as a baptismal type experience.  From there she told them that they have romance, and that she is in love with him.  You could see her folks cringing as she continued to speak.  TMI!

Sean and Mom got some alone time together.  Mom asked him what his intentions with her are.  Her mom drilled into Sean that Ashlee has abandonment issues and that he better not break her heart.  Sean survived the conversation with Mom and moved onto Dad.  Sean told him that he is crazy about her and see’s love on the horizon.  Sean asked her dad about the high school wedding, and questioned him as to why he approved of the wedding.  Dad admitted that he would have done it differently it he could do it all over again.  Then Sean went in for the kill and asked if it would be ok to ask Ashlee to marry him.  He got approval!

Hometown Date #2 – Catherine:  Seattle, Washington

Sean met Catherine downtown on a sunny day in Seattle!  They hung out at Pike Place Market – fish throwing, shopping, taking pictures in a photo booth, dancing, the gum wall, and eating doughnuts.  Over lunch Catherine warned Sean about her family and the feisty women in her family. 

Catherine’s family gave Sean a very warm welcome.  Sean made traditional food with her mom.  Catherine pulled her sisters aside to get the scoop on Sean.  She told them that she is realistic about how things are going and would “try it out” if he proposed to her.  Her sisters told her that they felt like she is trying to convince them that she likes him.  She continued to defend him and her relationship with him.

After the sisters grilled Catherine they decided to give Sean a hard time.  The sisters didn’t instill much confidence in Sean.  They told him about all of her bad habits, mood swings, and how quickly she falls for guys.  After the sisters, Sean spent some time with her mom.  She was realistic about the situation and told him that he shouldn’t lead her on if he isn’t interested in her.  He tried to ask her mom for approval to marry her and his mom pretty much dismissed the question.  Sean ended the date telling the camera the he isn’t sure how to move forward with her and isn’t sure where they go from here.  Not good!

Hometown Date #3 – Lindsay:  Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Lindsay took Sean for a walk through the town.  Sean told the camera that she gives him butterflies and brings out the kid in him.  They hung out at an antique store, stopped for a beer at the local bar, and had a cupcake at the cupcake shop.  Sean asked Lindsay what he should call her dad, General?  Sean told her that he is intimidated to meet her father and tell him how he feels about her.  For their final adventure, Lindsay dressed Sean up in army gear and took him through a mini boot camp.  He passed, so she took him to meet her family.

Sean kept telling the camera how nervous he was to meet a Two-Star General.  The family gave him a very nice greeting.  Her folks didn’t know that she got out of the limo in a wedding dress so she broke the news to them.  Her dad didn’t look impressed.

Lindsay’s mom pulled Sean aside.  He told her that he is crazy about Lindsay and that she is so special.  Her mom asked if he is falling in love with her.  He said that he is not in the position to say that right now, he will say that when he proposes to someone because they are sacred words.  Mom was happy with his honest answer.  Sean asked mom if she had any advice for him when talking to her husband.  She told him to be himself.

Sean met up with the dad.  Her dad told Sean that he is worried about his daughter getting hurt.  Sean tried asking her father for permission to marry his daughter if it came to that point.  Her dad said that he has never been asked a tougher question in his life.  After a parachute analogy he finally gave Sean his blessing. 

At the end of the visit her dad gave Sean dog tags to remember her family.  As they were saying goodbye, Ashley told Sean that she is falling in love with him.  It was just what he wanted to hear! 

Hometown Date #4 – Desiree:  Los Angeles, California

Desiree met up with Sean and took him for an L.A. style hike.  After the “hike” she took him to her house.  They prepared dinner for her family.  As they were waiting for her folks to arrive, they heard a knock at the door, Desiree opened the door and it was a guy.  He greeted her by telling her that he loves her and asked her where she has been.  She said, “I’ve been busy” and pointed to Sean.  They scene continued and Desiree finally looked at Sean and said, now that he’s here I do have to tell you something…”Gotcha!”  Desiree wanted to get him back for pranking her on their first date!

After the joke, her mom, dad, and brother stopped by.  Her mom pulled Desiree aside to chat.  Her mom told her she likes Sean and gave her approval.  Sean bonded with her dad.  Everything was going well until Desiree had a few minutes with her brother.  Her brother asked her about her relationship in comparison to the other girls.  He seemed very skeptical about the situation.  He told her that he thinks that it is “stupid”.  He said that if it were to happen that he would be thinking that there is no way that it could work out. 

After he was a jerk to his sister, he pulled Sean aside to tell him what he thinks.  He started off by saying that he can see that his sister is into Sean but that Sean isn’t into her.  Sean looked completely shocked and told him that he is crazy about his sister.  Her brother said, “So you don’t know which one you are going to chose yet”.  Sean said “no”.  The brother continued to insult Sean by calling him a Playboy.  Sean was visibly pissed off by the comments that her brother made.  The conversation ended awkwardly and they went back in to finish dinner. 

When the boys came back, everyone could tell that the brother shared how he felt with Sean.  The dinner conversation went from awkward to even more awkward.  They ended the date without even finishing dinner.  Desiree walked Sean out apologizing for her brother.  They exchanged an awkward kiss goodbye and Desiree went back in to finish dinner with her jerk brother. 

Conversation with Chris Harrison:

Sean told Chris that he was hoping for clarity and he didn’t get it.  He admitted that he doesn’t know who he is sending home – Catherine or Desiree?  Sean told Chris that he thinks that Desiree’s brother will always get under his skin…can he deal with that?  Catherine doesn’t seem ready to settle down and he feels like he might get in the way with her career.

Rose Ceremony:

Sean admitted to the girls that he still didn’t know who he was sending home and that he realizes that tomorrow he could regret his decision.  Desiree asked Sean if she could have a few minutes alone with him.  She pulled him aside to apologize for her brother.  – Did it work?

Rose #1 – Ashlee

Rose #2 – Lindsay

Sean picked up the final Rose, hesitated and then set it down.  He walked into the photo room to find clarity.

Rose #3 – Catherine

WOW!  That was a shocker! 

Sean walked Desiree out and told her that he might wake up tomorrow and realize that he made a terrible mistake.  She told him that she really does think that he is making a huge mistake.  He told her that he is trusting that the decision he made is the best for both of them.  She told him that she thinks 100% that it was a HUGE mistake.  He didn’t say anything and walked her to the limo.  They gave each other a final hug and he admitted that it might be a mistake.  He told her that he is going to miss her a lot and sent her off in the limo. 

Could this be another Jason Mesnick season?
