Ricky went home and Emily is left on her own to find her
husband.
Emily greeted the guys in their hotel room, which was a nice
surprise for the guys as the first person they usually see every week is Chris
Harrison.
Date #1 (Alone Date)
Travis – Let’s look for love beyond the walls
Travis and Emily headed to an old city to explore. They did a little shopping, bought some ice
cream, and tried standing on some awkward stone face against a wall. The stone face was meant to find out if you
are lucky in love – stand on the face and remove your jacket or shirt and you
will be lucky in love. Apparently Travis
isn’t going to have any luck with his love for Emily. He didn’t even try to remove his shirt when
he finally was able to stand on the face rock.
He did not score points with Emily for that one! They continued on their
adventure, dancing in the alley and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Back at the hotel the guys started evaluating if Travis
would make it through the date or go home.
They don’t have a lot of faith in him.
Back to Emily and Travis for an evening stroll in the
rain. In true Bachelorette fashion they
ended the night with a romantic dinner.
They talked about Travis and his former fiancĂ©’s relationship. He finally admits that he has been scared to
open up in relationships. Emily picked
up the rose and actually surprised me by handing out…nope, she told him that
she doesn’t feel a connection and sent him home! Not surprising at all! We begin the count - Travis is the first guy
to cry for the night!
Date #2 (Group Date)
Sean, The Wolf, Jef, Doug, Chris, Arie Lasting love requires bravery…
Ryan got a little cocky because he is going to get the
second one on one date.
The group date began with a movie date. What a great way to get to know 6 guys! Even better…it is a kid movie – Brave! Of course Doug found similarities in the
movie with the Bachelorette! Emily
decided that she wants to be fearless like the main character in the
movie.
The second phase of the date was a highland game
competition, like the movie. The best
part is that all of the boys had to put on kilts for the competition. Once the skirts were on, the boys rode
donkeys into the battle – maybe that was the best part! J As cute as Chris is he made a bigger ass out
of himself by standing strangely while shooting the arrow and missing the
target.
After target practice they decided to throw some logs. Poor Chris was disqualified with his first
log throw. Sean broke the log!
The third competition was tug-o-war with a stick. Chris got to pick his competitor and
lost. Poor guy! He lost all three rounds. L Never fear there was an award at the end of
the competitions – The Bravery Award!
Guess who got it??? For his
reward, Chris got alone time with Emily and the first couple kisses with
Emily.
The date ended with a cocktail hour. Emily pulled Sean aside and told him to be
confident in where he stands with her.
Arie went for a walk with Emily and she told him that she held him to a
different standard with the Kalon episode.
Jef scored points by giving Emily his jacket to shelter her from the
cold. Emily asked him if he was playing
a game by taking so long to kiss her for the first time. He told her a secret “I’m freaking crazy
about you!” During Chris’ alone time he
tried to get the rose by telling Emily that he is looking forward to falling in
love with her. Rose #1 went to Chris! Out
of pity or…for being one of the kindest, sweetest, most handsome men Emily has
ever met?
Date #3 (Alone Date)
Ryan – The world is our oyster…
As Ryan was taking 3 hours to get ready for his date all of
the guys were talking about how it is his second one on one date and they think
he needs to go home.
Emily met Ryan at the hotel to pick him up…or did he pick
her up with his cheesy lines?
After the two of them left the boys in the hood (three of
them wearing their hoods) continued to talk trash about Ryan.
The date began with Ryan driving Miss. Daisy to their date
location. Emily told him she thinks he
is rotten (i.e. trouble). The date
location was out at an oyster farm for a little afternoon snack. After oysters they went for a walk, ran into
a crazy man and finally settled down for a picnic lunch. Ryan continued to impress Emily with his term
of endearment – Trophy Wife.
The date ended in a castle for a romantic dinner. Ryan was dressed up in his turquoise
shoes. He continued to impress by
telling Emily that she is dressed like a trophy. Ryan pulled out a paper with 12 qualities
that he would like to find in a wife.
1. Loyal 2. Logical 3. ?
4. Encourager 5. Faithful 6.
Nurturer 7. Confident 8. Servant 9.
Sexy personality 10. Beautiful - someone who catches his eye.
Emily picked up the rose and fave Ryan a few compliments,
tells him that what he is looking for in a wife doesn’t match what she is
looking for in a husband and told him she couldn’t give him the rose. He looked at her with a creepy pissed off
look. He gave her a speech and told her
how surprising it is that she doesn’t think they would be a good fit. She tried to defend her choice and he
continued to manipulate her.
Flash to the boys at the hotel. They were debating if he would come home or
not. Chris called it by saying that he
will come home because he is a great salesman.
Arie has faith in Emily and her judgment.
Back to the manipulator…Emily told him that she doesn’t know
if she can make him happy and doesn’t give him the rose! Go EMILY!!!!
He doesn’t give it up! He
continues with the manipulation. As
Emily walked him out she told him that she wasn’t 100% confident in her
decision. Of course he told her that she
is making the wrong choice.
As Ryan was going home a “loser” (his words), the boys in
the hotel celebrated his departure.
Sneak Attack
Arie went to Emily’s hotel to talk to her. She was surprised and happy! Arie told Emily that she is a good judge of
character. Emily gave Rose #2 (Ryan’s rose) to Arie! He seemed to like getting sloppy seconds from
the trophy wife even if they don’t officially count.
Cocktail Party
Emily pulled The Wolf aside.
He told her that he has been playing it too cool. He pulled out his grandparent’s funeral cards
to show her that he is emotional and has depth.
Emily pulled Doug aside for a little one on one time. Emily puts his arm around her and Doug got
shy. Emily tried giving him a pep
talk! #2 – Doug cried to the camera
because he misses his kid. He better
buck up because that didn’t work out for Tony!
Chris Harrison finally appears (must have been on vacation) to
take Emily away to prepare for the Rose Ceremony. Emily told the camera she is having a hard
time deciding based off of some advise that Ryan gave her. J
Rose Ceremony
Rose #2 – Sean
Rose #3 – Jef
Rose #4 – Arie
Emily walked out before handing out the last rose. She found Chris and asked him what to
do. He told her there are no rules.
Rose #5 - John
Rose #6 – Doug
2 guys cried but only 1 guy went home this week.
The board took a big hit with Ryan’s departure. I’m not confident in Doug and obviously not
Arie so the winner might not be based off of Bachelor #1 this season! J
