No Losses!

Before the dates began, Chris informed the guys “The journey around the world begins in Atlantic City!”  Apparently the mansion wasn’t good enough.

Date #1 (Alone Date) Brad – Let our love shine through

The date started with fun on the boardwalk – games, saltwater taffy, chocolate, and fun.  Next stop was a picnic lunch on a large sandcastle. 

During dinner Des did her best to find out if there was a connection with Brad.  They clearly had trouble conversing at dinner.  Desiree suggested going up to the lookout tower where she decided to dump him. – Really??  At the top of the tower…  Of course he went home crying to his son!

Date #2 (Group Date) Brooks, Bryden, Zak, Kasey, Drew, Juan, Mikey, Ben, Michael, Chris - I’m looking for my Mr. Right

The guys met Desiree at Boardwalk Hall for a Mr. America pageant. – Who comes up with these dates???  They brought in a gay pageant coach to instruct the guys.  The guys started by picking their talent from a table of props (guitar, drums, heels, etc.).  While the boys were playing with their props, Miss. America quizzed the guys with interview questions.  Finally, the boys were presented with a rack full of swimsuits to choose from for the swimsuit competition (let’s just say…there were many different sizes and shapes to chose from).  After practicing Chris informed the guys that the actual Mr. America pageant would take place in front of a live audience – of course!!! 

The Bachelorette’s Mr. America pageant began with the interview portion of the competition.  Most of the guys answered the questions well until Mikey decided to “get his message across that he is sensitive.”  The next portion was to see their talent.  About the only guy with true talent was Zak W with a guitar serenade.  The final round of the swimsuit completion was so quick that you may have missed it if you blinked.

The Bachelorette’s Mr. America 2013 title went to Kasey!  The first runner up was Zak, and the second runner up was Brooks. 

After the pageant they all went to an indoor hotel pool area for cocktails and conversation.   Ben spent his time irritating the guys by having his one on one time near the guys.  Ben and his irritating qualities impressed Desiree.  Zak used his alone time to continue to show his talent.  Apparently it worked because he received Rose #1.  Bryden didn’t get any alone time and told the camera “ it’s an issue that I now have to address and it’s not like I will just wait and see what happens anymore.  It’s more serious than that.” – What exactly does that mean?

Date #3 (Alone Date) James – Can our love weather the storm?

James spent the night prior to their date taking a bubble bath, drinking wine, and eating chocolate covered strawberries!!!

Desiree decided to take James on a Red Cross guided helicopter tour of the damage that Hurricane Sandy left behind.  Wow!  www.redcross.org/donate

As if the tour wasn’t enough to make you shed a tear, they met up with a couple that described the event and showed them their home that was damaged in the storm.  Desiree came up with a wonderful idea to give the couple her romantic dinner date in Atlantic City!  - Shed a tear yet?

At the low-key dinner that Desiree and James shared, James told her that he cheated on a girlfriend in college.  She questioned him to make sure that he has moved on and wouldn’t do it again.  She appreciated his honesty.

After dinner they surprised the Hurricane Sandy couple on their dinner date to give them one more surprise.  A private concert!  Desiree surprised James with Rose #2!

Cocktail Party:

Bryden tells the camera that if Desiree offers him a rose he doesn’t know if he will accept it because he hasn’t had alone time with her.  Michael impressed Desiree by making a poem out of her name.  Bryden shares his threat with the other Bachelors – Dumbass!  Chris shared concerns about being in the friend zone and Desiree proved him wrong with a kiss.  Bryden finally got his alone time and shared his thoughts with Desiree. - Seriously?

No one lost a Bachelor this week!!!  Woohoo!!!
